About TASC Aviation

Aviation Runs in Their Blood

Shawn Blackmon and his aviation-enthusiast family are TASC Aviation Consulting.

Shawn and his brothers grew up around aircraft and have all chosen careers in the aviation industry.

Shawn is certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) and is now active in aircraft acquisition as well as Director of Maintenance services at TASC Aviation Consulting where he has the opportunity to work all over the world.

His older brother is also certified A&P and was employed as an aircraft mechanic in Texas for many years. And his younger brother is a retired CW5 and Blackhawk pilot.

Shawn’s son couldn’t help but become a certified A&P aircraft mechanic, too.

Something Lacking

With over 30 years in the aviation industry, Shawn couldn’t help but notice that something was lacking: quality customer service for private jet owners.

“My clients are spending a lot of money,” he says. “And there’s no one with an aviation background advocating for them.”

That’s when Shawn decided to put his certification in A&P to a different use. Instead of working on aircraft, he wanted to work for small aircraft owners—those men and women who have worked hard to achieve their financial status and the ability to purchase a private jet or turboprop aircraft.

“They’ve got more important things to worry about than maintaining their aircraft,” he says.

Customer Service with Quality Care

Despite his affinity for aircraft, Shawn considers himself more of a people person. "Aircraft are aircraft," he says. "It’s the people we care about."

Shawn and his team truly enjoy the relationships they’ve built with industry professionals, including aircraft mechanics, maintenance and service centers, suppliers of aircraft parts and equipment, and the clients they serve.

"From inception to completion—from the day they buy an aircraft until the day they sell it," he says, "we want to take care of our customers."
